Program Aktywności na Wsi (The Physical Activity Programme in Rural Areas) is a national project aimed at increasing physical activity and encouraging a healthy lifestyle for those aged fifty and over who are living in rural areas of Poland.

The project included the following events:
  • 20 hours of recreational activities lead by qualified instructors (gymnastics, Nordic walking, aqua fitness, Zumba, cycling classes),
  • A lecture devoted to the importance of physical activity, and
  • The closing event – recreational gathering for the participants, physical activity assessments at the end of the project to measure its effectiveness.
The cost of participating was PLN30 with the funds generated being used to cover the cost of the closing event. The project was co-funded by the Ministerstwo Sportu i Turystyki (Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism), and co-organised with the local councils of the various villages which hosted the activities.

The 4 local councils that joined the project in 2019 were Klwów, Trzebownisko, Kompachcice, Kiszkowo.

67 senior citizens actively participated in the programme, while another 107 joined the closing event. 

In 2019, for the first time ever, EPAPA 50+ organised Program Aktywności na Wsi (The Physical Activity Programme in Rural Areas) which is a project aiming at increasing physical activity and encouraging healthy lifestyles among the senior citizens living in rural areas. The 4 participating local councils were: Klwów, Trzebownisko, Kompachcice, Kiszkowo.

As part of the programme we offered a series of 20 one hour sessions of recreational activities led by qualified instructors, a lecture entitled: The importance of physical activity in our life, and a closing recreational event intended not only for the participants but also for anyone wishing to discover what the programme was about One aim of the programme was to assess the physical ability of the participants and to check and confirm the effectiveness of the programme.  The PLN 30 entry fee went towards the cost of organising the closing event. The project was co-funded by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and co-organised with the participating local councils.
